After meeting with our representative at your hotel in Aswan, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel is one of the most monumentally important sites in the whole of Egypt. It was here, in fact, that Pharaoh Rameses II wanted several temples to be built, including two of particular importance, known as the ‘Greater Temple’ and the ‘Lesser Temple’ carved out of the bare rock, and the great Temple of Abu Simbel, unanimously considered the most imposing and the most beautiful, dedicated to the deities of Heliopolis, Memphis and Thebes (Ra, Ptah and Ammon). The Minor Temple, dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor, features statues of Pharaoh Ramesses and the royal family on its façade. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Abu Simbel Airport for your flight to Aswan, where you will return to your hotel.
